6 Principles of Marketing that Everyone Should Know

Give me 3 minutes and I’ll teach you the 6 Principles of Marketing that everyone should know:

1. Price

This is how much someone is willing to pay for your offer.

Generally, I’ve found that you convincing someone to party with $9 is harder than someone giving you $900

2. Place

This is where your ideal customer can find your offer.

Find the places where your audience already lives like Appsumo, Twitter, and ProductHunt if you’re launching a digital product.

3. People

This is the ideal customer that you’ve narrowed down as deeply as possible.

I see so many people fail here because they try to reach too many people simultaneously or don’t understand their customers’ needs strongly enough.

4. Product

This is the tangible or intangible thing that a customer wants or needs.

Many of the best products give you a unique experience or feeling you can’t get anywhere else (ie. Apple).

5. Packaging

This is how you present your solution to your customer’s problem.

Ask yourself which sounds more appealing - a textbook about the psychology of human productivity or an ebook called “Hyperfocus”.

6. Promotion

This is the communication you use to speak to your ideal customer.

The best advice I can give you is to speak as simply as possible and poke at the emotion behind their problem.
